YESSS! I completed "Autumn Colors" this morning, spent almost an hour cracking my head how to finish it up and finally, some five hours later, ta-ta-ta-dah...
As I've shared earlier, Olga intended this design for a scissors fob but being short of resources, I used Aida. Naturally, this turned out bigger than expected so I have turned it into a needlebook cum scissors case. The finished work now measures 8cm X 8cm.
Used yellow ocher checks for the back and scissors pocket to coordinate with the brown interior. Didn't have the right color felt so I improvised and used a piece of Aida for parking the needles. I also added the maroon and dull green silk ribbons to give the inside a little more colour.Labels: 2008, Craft, Needlebook

Yes, it's on the way! With the one week Raya school break, I should have at least one little project to show :-) As you can see, I am almost done with "Autumn Colors" (except for the beads). Had to make some adaptations though as I couldn't get one or two of the recommended colors. The craft shops in Alor Star are rather pathetic :-( Anyway, I have replaced DMC4070 with DMC472 and will probably have to do the same with the silver later. Hopefully, this will not affect the outcome of the design.Labels: 2008, Craft, Cross-stitch

Looks familiar? This is my first installment of "Autumn Colors", courtesy of my wonderful new friend Olga of Olenka's Stitches. She has so kindly offered to share her design with those who are interested to stitch it. I have always admired Olga's designs so when I received the chart today, I just couldn't wait to get the project started. Although I have adapted this pattern on Aida (I was short on supplies), I think it is turning out nicely. Of course it's going to be too big for a scissors fob so I'll have to crack my head later on how to finish it up. But for now, I'm really enjoying stitching this. Thanks Olga! I hope my work won't disappoint you :-)Labels: 2008, Craft, Cross-stitch

Wondering how I should finish off these 3 pieces? If I've to crack my head over it, maybe I should just stash them away for the moment...Labels: 2008, Craft, Cross-stitch
